CBSE affiliation is a formal grant that authorises a school to present students for Board examinations. Applications are made online through the SARAS 6.0 portal under categories such as Fresh Affiliation, Upgradation, Extension, and Switch-over. CBSE opens and announces the session-wise application window by notification, and expects schools to follow the current SARAS Manual.

Eligibility and Prerequisites at a glance

Minimum land norms are 8,000 sq m in general, with moderated thresholds of 6,000 sq m or 4,000 sq m for specified urban, hilly, North-Eastern, Jammu & Kashmir, and NCR contexts.
