NEP 2020, Section 4.6, is unambiguous. Experiential learning "will be adopted, including hands-on learning, arts-integrated and sports-integrated education, and story-telling-based pedagogy, among others, as standard pedagogy within each subject." The verb is "will", the subject is every subject, the stages are all four. NCF-FS 2022 organises early years pedagogy around the Panchaadi, five learning steps in which children gather information by asking questions, exploring, and experimenting with ideas and material. The Toys (Quality Control) Order 2020, in force since 1 January 2021, makes the ISI mark legally mandatory for all toys and educational materials for children under 14 in India. Seven Indian Standards apply, covering mechanical safety, flammability, toxicity limits for cadmium, mercury, and phthalates, and electrical safety. BIS has reported that around 17 per cent of tested samples fail certification. Uncertified and grey-import kits are illegal, seizable, and a real liability exposure for the school and its trustees.
